2006 Annual Meeting and Fun Day
3/26/2006 Montverde, FL

A big congratulations to all our new officers and board members!
What we started as a teeny-weeny club two years ago has really grown. The quality and dedication of our members can't be beat and you are all to be commended. Our Fun Day this year was outstanding. Between the food, field work, tracking, rally and CGC tests, we had something for everyone. Speaking of which...Southern Skies Flat-Coated Retriever Club has NINE new CGC dogs! They are:

Leasa Gowett and Mallard Pointe's Freedom Spirit

Cynthia McCollum and Mallard Pointe Enchanted

Lana Rowlison and CH Mallard Pointe's Aerodynamic

Susan Schultz and SHR Mallard Pointe Gone Klingon RN WC

Elizabeth Mound and Butterblac's Turn Back Time

Bruce Brown and Stella

Bruce Brown and Gypsy

Pamela Hind and Savvy's Miss Moneypenny JH WCX

Gail Pfohler and CH Savvy's Can-Can Dylan CD

Congratulations to all.

For those of you who may be interested in starting field work, Central Florida Hunting Retriever Club has monthly meetings and this Sunday April 2nd they are starting the Lardy beginners drills.  The April CFHRC training day is at Wayne Gey's ranch in Montverde (30-45 min west of Orlando) and starts at 9 am, the beginners drill will be held at 11 am and is beginning with basic obedience for field work.   Heel, sit, come and intro to the whistle for sit and come.   Each month will build on the previous month - so come on Sunday if you want to get started!   These are basic drills that you will be able to do at your home and in short periods of time over the summer :)     The North East Florida Hunting Retriever club may also start something similar.  Their training days are usually the 3rd weekend of the month.

You can google CFHRC or e mail me for more information (If I put web site links in my mass e mails some e mail programs think they are spam and I get a lot of bounces).  I'm at this e mail until 5 pm on Friday - but can't check it over the weekend.

Happy Training!
