The objectives of the club shall be

a.   to encourage and promote the welfare of purebred Flat-Coated Retrievers and to do everything possible to perfect their natural qualities,

b.   to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which the Flat-Coated Retriever shall be judged and

c.   to do everything in the club’s power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike conduct at dog shows, obedience trials and field activities under the rules of the American Kennel Club.
